ABOUT US
Dance music began in 1980s Chicago as an art form and safe space for the marginalized. Over the last four decades, as it has increased in popularity, it has decreased in diversity. Her Dancefloor aims to do its part to fulfill the subculture’s original promise by elevating women, female-identifying and non-binary individuals in the $11.3B global dance music industry*, through community, connections, and counsel. The organic community includes artists, managers, music executives, promoters, creatives, and more from across the globe, unified in mutual respect and love, and a goal to move the needle. Today, 63% of senior music executives and 72% of artists on dance-oriented lineups are male*. Through our efforts, we aim to close the gap to 50/50.
